Experience majestic blue pools, stunning, swirling moulins, deep crevasses and dramatic ice formations that continue to fascinate and attract the explorer in all of us when you step foot and trek around the surface of the Knik Glacier. The mighty Knik, one of the largest glaciers left in south-central Alaska, is twenty-six miles in length and 6 miles across at its toe and is just one of several glaciers in the ancient river valley. In addition to spotting wildlife from the air (moose, dall sheep, spawning salmon, and bears), you’ll have an eagle’s eye view of towering waterfalls, glacial iceberg-filled lakes, and the untouched wilderness of the Last Frontier! This excursion allows for 40 minutes of flight time and up to 45 minutes on the glacier.

2. Anchorage Area: Helicopter and Glacier Dogsled Tour

Soar over Alaska on a spectacular helicopter ride above glaciers and icebergs. Search the skyline for moose, black bears, Dall sheep, and mountain goats. Stand on the runners and mush your own dog team, or sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. The length of this tour makes it perfect for any traveler. After the dogsled tour, meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, meet the puppies and take pictures with your favorite dogs. The staff notified in a timely manner that the dog sledding part was not going to be possible due to bad weather and it is excellent thinking of the client's safety, however the passage by helicopter and to the glacier was possible and the attention and explanation of safety and the Shine pilot were excellent. The kindness of the pilot was very nice and his explanations on the flight and on the glacier were extraordinary. They provided us with a device for special footwear to walk on the glacier. The tour on the glacier was excellent, I 100% recommend this tour!

This was amazing, suggest planning it towards the end of your trip so it is a highlight. Dogs run in the Iditarod!

Me and my family really like it the pilot was perfect and all of the stuff
