Montserrat & Cava Winery Small Group Day Tour

1. Montserrat & Cava Winery Small Group Day Tour

Embark on a guided day trip from Barcelona to Montserrat and the Penedès wine-growing region by minivan. Visit the monastery and the Museum of Monserrat, listen to Europe's oldest children's choir, walk through the mountain range's many paths, and visit a winery - this tour has it all. There will be plenty of free time to explore Montserrat on your own, but a visit to the sanctuary where the Moreneta is housed is a must. Pilgrims and other visitors have climbed the mountain to visit this sanctuary for nearly 1,000 years. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the fascinating Museum of Montserrat, and browse its collections that range from the Archaeology of the Biblical East to Modern Painting and Sculpture. A highlight of visiting Montserrat is listening to the voices of Europe’s oldest children’s choir, La Escolania de Montserrat. There are numerous walking and climbing trails on the mountain, ranging from easy strolls to serious hikes. Each trail offers a different perspective on the surrounding landscape, which is dotted with small chapels and hermitages. If you'd rather not walk at all, then another option is to take one of the2 rack railways or the cable car, which provide stunning views of the area as well. After the morning in Montserrat, the tour heads to Penedès, a wine-growing region where you'll stop by a winery to view the vast wine cellars and taste some of the wineries' renowned products. You’ll take a tour of the winery and see how this sparkling wine is produced, from the pressing of the grapes to fermentation in the vast cellars. No winery visit would be complete without a taste of the product, so at the end of the tour you'll have a chance to try some of the best cava the region produces.

What people are saying about Sant Sadurní d'Anoia

Carlos at Naturanda Turismo was an amazing driver/tour guide. He took great passion and patience in explaining every point of interest even while driving. He has vast knowledge of Spain’s history and great rapport with small businesses in the little white villages. The restaurants he recommended for lunch (in Grazelama) and coffee (in Ronda) were some of the best we had in Spain. The thrilling drive down below the New Bridge was heart stopping yet absolutely worth it! The olive oil factory visit took us back to the 1700s for sure and to learn how to press olive (right off the tree) in your hands to get oil was genius. It was a long day and finding their office on Rastro was bit of a challenge but totally worth it!

Sir Albert was a wonderful tour guide. Our tour experience with him was the highlight of our trip to Spain. We loved the history, knowledge and his genuine appreciation he has for his craft. Not only was the tour entertaining, it was educational as well. We could not have asked for a better way to conclude out visit to Spain. The vineyard he took us to was also incredible and educational. The electric bikes made it easy to bike through. Albert was also a phenomenal photographer as well and found various opportunities to take amazing pictures! I would wholeheartedly recommend doing the bike tour with Albert!

would definitely recommend. Easy to reach from Barcelona by train or car. Wonderful guide, lots of information on the region, history and wine making process. The ride is just as enjoyable as the visit to the beautiful vineyard. Lovely wines and afterwards there are great lunch options in the area.

Albert was a fantastic host and this was one of our favourite trips whilst staying in Barcelona. We tried 5 different wines and cycling up and down the scenic hills was great, it was a well planned route. I look forward to trying any other tours they plan

Amazing way to see the vineyards and the wine county. Colin, our guide, was friendly and knowledgeable, and the electric bikes were fun and easy!
