Bilbao: San Sebastian Tour With Cider House Visit & Lunch

3. Bilbao: San Sebastian Tour With Cider House Visit & Lunch

From Bilbao, go on a guided tour of Guipuzcoa's San Sebastian. Learn about the history and culture of the city and visit a cider house where you can sample some ciders and sit down for a lunch of traditional Basque food. Opt to make your tour private and enjoy the day trip alone with a loved one. Begin by getting picked up in Bilbao by van. Once you arrive in San Sebastian, go on a walking tour of the city, the local market, the Concha beach and listen to your guide tell you all about the history and its magic. Hear stories about various characters throughout history and see hidden secret spots only locals know about. After, get taken by your guide to the top of Monte Igueldo (one of Europe's oldest theme parks) and look down at the Comb Of The Wind sculpture by Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida. Enjoy the views and use the opportunity to take plenty of photographs. Next, explore some of the Basque cider houses, a must-see since they are a great way to see how sailors and other Basque people used to enjoy their food and drink. The Basque sailors were regarded as some of the toughest men on the high seas, and their secret was plenty of cider and sautéed cod. Have lunch in one of the oldest cider houses and sample a traditional Txuleta menu, which includes cod, omelette, chorizo cooked in cider, and the Basque Txuelta, which is similar to a T-bone steak. Learn how to pour yourself the cider from the massive barrel and drink until departure time.

A fantastic tour of San Sebastián old town with traditional drinks and Pintxos. Jon was full of historical and interesting facts about the area and chose some fantastic Pintxos and drinks to share with us. The cheesecake and raisin liquor was my absolute favourite! Delicious!! We did this on our final evening and we thought it would actually be more useful to do it at the beginning so you can revisit some of the restaurants to sample the amazing food again!

This was GREAT! You’ll get a good feel for the city while seeing a few things only locals would know about. Our guide was Alba who explained many of the areas and history of each point of interest. The ride is relatively easy on the E bikes and San Sebastián is very bike friendly.

This tour was amazing! Jon was very enthusiastic about his country, food and history! Pintox we're all delicious, took us to the best places!!

We enjoyed wonderful landscapes and nice places - a very pleasent way to spent time near Bilbao after the New Year Eve.

Best trip in Bilbao October 2022 before cruise Imanol was the tour guide ⭐️
