Meet your guide and enter the breathtaking Doge’s Palace. The guide will escort you through its stunning rooms where the Doges lived and decided the fate of the glorious Venetian Republic.

Admire the Golden staircase and incredible artwork by famous Italian artists such as Tiepolo and Tiziano. Next, the guide will bring you to St. Mark’s Basilica, also known as the Golden Cathedral, thanks to its stunning mosaics made of pure gold. Here, you will discover its long history.

The beauty of this five-dome Basilica will certainly impress you. Visit the Basilica's terrace with a copy of the famous horses, the St. Mark's quadriga, and admire the most beautiful view of the heart of Venice: St Mark’s Square.

Discover St. Mark’s Museum and admire objects of various kinds and origins belonging to the Basilica, including the original quadriga which was moved from the terrace after the last restoration. After a break for lunch, join a guided walking tour departing from St. Mark’s Square. Admire the city's main monuments such as the Clock-Tower, Procuratie Vecchie, and the Bell Tower.

Then, visit the famous Campo (square) Santa Maria Formosa, the house of Marco Polo, The Church of San Giovanni and Paolo, and the Rialto Bridge with its traditional market. Our guide was really great! Born in Italy and speaks German quite well. He was extremely knowledgeable about Venice and the history behind the city. His knowledge is incredibly versatile and very interesting to listen to. Worth every penny! The tour begins with an approx. 1.5 hour city tour in which you can see the most important places such as St. Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge etc. visited. Then to the Basilica (he knew the story behind every picture and every painting and could answer every question)... and then to the Doge's Palace. Incredibly impressive and imposing. It was very worth it! Total duration of the tour approx. 4 hours (9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.). The only thing that was a little stupid is that the description says "cover your knees and arms (long pants & t-shirt)" that doesn't matter to them, I hardly saw anyone there without shorts/t-shirt, so if it's a warm/hot day don't be intimidated and just come with shorts+shirt. Otherwise everything

We were a small group with only 4 participants. Our group leader was very nice, she passed on a lot of interesting information that we would never have found out otherwise. The length of the tour is good, so you can do everything in one tour. The tour of Venice was exciting, many small streets and bridges, away from the tourists, the Doge's Palace and St. Mark's Basilica was very exciting, we got a lot of interesting details about the buildings. The tour can only be recommended.

Our tour guide was Venetian and spoke perfect German. She also gave us lots of tips and information that are not typically part of a city tour. This ultimately led to the tour being much longer than planned. Unfortunately, this left little time at the end to enjoy the view from the terrace of St. Mark's Basilica.
