The architecture of the former railway station is worth going to see in its own right. Have a drink in the cafe and ponder the huge clock and views over Paris. The Impressionist paintings on the top floor are interesting with a good selection of painters and painting genres. The furniture is also a highlight.

Beautiful! However, I Still had to stand in line for half hour with pass and reserved time. The very young groups of children were a huge problem. They were kindergarten age- how much could they comprehend of Impressionist paintings?!? I was worried “Starry night “was going to be knocked off wall. I have never been in a museum so understaffed.

This museum is a don't-miss experience while in Paris! The building itself is a masterpiece, and there are so many works of impressionist masters available. (Get yourself to the 5th floor straight away if you have only a couple of hours, as this is where you'll see the majority of works by Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Manet, etc.
