The first 5 hours of the tour were very good and our guide told us a lot about the city, it’s history and India in general. We went to the Monkey Temple and the Amber Fort and he explained both sites in great detail. The whole tour changed completely after we were back in town after lunch and the guide actually tried to bring us to those typical places where you are supposed to buy jewelry or similar things. We told him that we did not want that and he then decided that he needed to jump out a bit early and leave us alone with our driver for the rest of the day. Our driver in turn was absolutely amazing and brought us to the Birla Mandir Temple, even though the traffic was horrible. He tried to explain things as best as he could and did a really good job. If you do the tour and don’t wanna buy souvenirs, make sure to tell your guide in advance that you are not interested in “handicrafts and stone cutting and polishing” since those places are really just about buying those.

I suspect many reviews here will rave about the quality of the tour guide and professionalism of the driver (as they should, we had a very pleasant experience in our brief stint of 4 sites). I would like to tell anecdote about our experience. A party member was feeling ill in the morning, we reached out to the local partner and they were very accommodating to a delayed start time. After our tour started they were also accommodating and very friendly when a rest break was needed from the severe heat. We pushed our luck a little too much in the heat (104 F) and our party member succumbed to a fainting spell. The guide and driver were very attentive to her needs and ensured us safe passage back to the hotel, they were everything you could hope for as guests in a foreign country in a scary situation. I would trust them again without a doubt.

Great tour with Irfan and Rama Singh today, we explored Jaipur high and low starting with the Amer Fort and ending with the monkey palace. It’s great to be able to customise to what you want to see and Ifran offered many more points of interest that were more local and less touristy. We thoroughly enjoyed- thank you!
