Visit the Temple of Diana and learn how cork is extracted from Cork Oak Trees. Visit the medieval Évora Cathedral and climb to the roof to admire the golden plains surrounding the city. Continue to the Renaissance Church of St. Francis to see the Chapel of Bones, covered in human skulls and bones, before returning to Lisbon.

We want to take you inside a time machine and arrive back a few centuries ago, as our first stop is 7000 years back at the Almendres Cromlech. Next is the former roman town of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, with roman, visigoth, muslim and portuguese influence. In Évora history crosspaths with us in every corner, in this big puzzle of historical monuments with more than 1000 years old. The walking tour starts at São Francisco church and the Bones Chapes, one of the must see places in Évora. Heading next to the medieval heart of the city where the Cathedral (the biggest in Portugal) can be found but also some antique testimonials like, Roman Temple cand the Roman baths. There will also be time for an olive oil tasting, free time to shop and to lunch … by any means skip the local food. Definitely not to skip the 2027 European Cultural Capital.

This tour will start a very interesting and unexpected drive trough a cork oak forest, in Portuguese, the Montado. A cultural heritage left by the oldest generations giving us an example of an almost perfect balance between Nature and mankind. Next, the very famous Cromlech of Almendres, considered by the locals the most mysterious place in the region. The truth is that until now, no one can give us an exact explanation about the reasons this place exist. We will go trough the most well known theories. This standing stones can give us a different understanding about our existence. The way mankind have been evolving and how important where some things that we today consider simple. We will visit 3 megalithic sites and because all our tours are different we might have time to go to the Roman times and visit an authentic Roman Ruin. Évora is the capital of the Upper Alentejo, an old city surrounded by crenellated walls, where you'll still find alive the remains of Roman presence, Arab culture and Portuguese history spanning across the last 900 years. A royal residence for long periods, Évora still keeps the glamour of the best aristocratic architecture from the 16th and 17th centuries. Tens of monuments can be explored and discovered inside the ancient medieval city featured with twisted alleyways ripped in the urban mesh of whitewashed houses with ocher painted strips. Évora is known as the Portuguese Museum City and was classified as a World Heritage Site in 1986. On this trip, you'll explore monumental Évora on a guided tour where the main monuments will be visited, like the Roman Temple and Bathes, the Gothic Cathedral, the St. Francis Church and its Chapel of Bones, the Giraldo Square, the Mudejar styled Chapel of St. Brás and much more. Walking around the city, you'll feel the history in every corner, square and alleyway. Visit the town of Arraiolos, wind up to its medieval castle and appreciate the traditional handmade embroidered rugs in famous specialized shops. Traveling in the surroundings of Évora, you can admire the beautiful landscape of the Alentejo region featured with plains, cork tree forests, olive tree groves, whitewashed houses and the bluer blue sky of Portugal. The tour begins at 08:45 and finishes about 9 hours later at your hotel.

Your tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel/apartment or cruise ship. This private tour is provided with the objective of showing you the national monuments at Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although there will be time to visit the inside of some selected monuments or attractions, it is never sufficient to visit all of them, so please inform your driver of your preferences and all arrangements will be made in order to fulfill your preferences. This experience is provided for the sole purpose of your enjoyment, so feel free to ask for whatever you need and best efforts will be made to accommodate your request. As this is a private tour, you will have the freedom to rearrange your tour as you see fit. A standard itinerary will follow this form. After the hotel pick-up, you will head directly to the southeast through one of Lisbon's emblematic bridges, driving directly to Évora, approximately a 1.5-hour drive. Once you arrive, visit the Almendres Chromlech, one of the oldest structures of this type on the Iberian Peninsula. Then, walk through the small city center to the main attractions such as the Roman Temple, the Cathedral, the Bones Chapel, and Giraldo's Square (an approximately 1 to 2 kilometer walk to see all the main spots).  Lunch can be arranged in one of the many restaurants in the city center. Afterward, head to one of the estates or wine shops in the area, where you can choose to have a tasting of the wines produced there. After visiting the estate, head back to your accommodation for an approximately 5:30 PM arrival.
