1. Pompeii and Amalfi Coast: Full-Day Private Tour
Enjoy a full-day excursion to two of Italy’s best-known UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Your English-speaking driver will show you the extraordinary beauty of the coast of south-western Italy during this tour. Our first stop of the day is Pompeii, which was at one time a thriving Roman town and is now an important archaeological site. You can walk along the town’s streets and visit houses, shops, bars, and even a Roman brothel, and marvel at how well the town was preserved. Pompeii was engulfed by ash and soot from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The entire town was buried, and more than 20,000 residents were killed. Today, Pompeii is an outdoor museum and one of the few sites where an ancient city was so well preserved by volcanic ash. You’ll have the unique opportunity of seeing how the residents lived 2,000 years ago. You’ll marvel at the spectacular views along the coast. We’ll make a stop overlooking Positano and its bay for photos before continuing to Amalfi. We’ll ensure that you have plenty of time to enjoy the clear blue waters as well. The Amalfi Coast lies in the southwestern region of Campania and is best known for its iconic medieval fishing villages, perched atop hills overlooking the Mediterranean.
