Full description
Your private guide will drive you directly to the picturesque village of Giethoorn ( 75min ). The centre of the village is car-free so the only way to get around is by boat or on foot. Your guide will transform himself into your captain and welcome you on board a typical 'punter', a small Dutch flat bottomed boat designed to sail in shallow waters for a private one hour tour through Giethoorn. After you're back on dry land you'll join your guide for a short walking tour giving you another perspective on this picture perfect little village. After leaving Giethoorn you'll drive through the countryside to Hasselt, a storybook village off the beaten path. In Hasselt you'll wander with your guide through the old town’s cobblestone streets, learn about its history and why it's named 'Little Amsterdam'.

An experience of a lifetime!

While everyone knows Venice, very few have heard of Giethoorn - a small village in Netherlands which has no roads. This pristine village is probably the closest backdrop to the fairy tales that we have often read/heard in our childhood. Apart from the picturesque location, we were also impressed by our tour guide Steven, who was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed his titbits about the area and the local culture (something that cannot be found on the internet). Overall, an amazing experience!

We were really impressed by Steven, our guide for this private Giethoorn tour! Nice drive from Amsterdam city to Giethoorn with Steven’s detailed introduction on the attractions. Boat trip was nice and relaxing, and it’s a wonderful way to explore this beautiful village. Lunch at a local cafe was another great point to mention. We got to experience yummy Dutch food and the Genievre! This day tour is Really worth it!

After all private tour is comfortable and fun

The guide and driver Steven was very helpful. We had you pick up at the hotel on time and enjoyed the whole journey smoothly and flexibly. I was sorry that it was cloudy and chilly until near evening, but I could still feel the beauty of the Giethoorn winter scenery by boat or on foot. After that, the quiet appearance of the old Hanseatic city of Hasselt and the lunch of local food at the cafe were also delicious. It was a good memory to be trapped in a Protestant church in the center of the city, or to visit the windmills on the outskirts of the city and climb up a number of steep ladders to the top floor inside. When I was on the move, I was able to answer a lot of questions and find out that it wasn't covered in a guidebook about the Netherlands. After all, such a rich experience is something that can only be enjoyed on a private tour. It costs a bit, but it's worth it.
