Full description

With this 1-day electric scooter rental, you get to decide what time you’ll start out, when and where you’ll stop and how long you’ll spend at the numerous attractions. Before you start the activity you get instructions from an instructor and have a test run. After that, you can go off on your own (not in a group). Your route starts in Landsmeer, a small village just above Amsterdam. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi, car, or bus to get to the starting point from Amsterdam. After a cup of coffee or tea and an explanation of the navigation app routiq, head out to discover the beautiful countryside. With your scooter rental, you’ll get a digital route to the Zaanse Schans, with its traditional Dutch houses and windmills.

Bart, the owner, was very friendly and offered us coffee or tea when we arrived in the morning. He made it easy to understand the route and how to ride the scooters for the first time. He was even generous enough to let me borrow a power adapter for my phone which came in handy for the GPS. The route was very pretty and the windmills and little town that surrounds it was a lot of fun to walk through.

The venue is about 20 mins north of Amsterdam City Centre and easy to get to tram and bus; or take up the offer of a pickup from the owner which is good value. The owner is really friendly, helpful and a free coffee on arrival :-) Download the routiq app before you arrive - it will save time. The app downloads your route for the day and takes all the hassle out of navigating. Quick lesson at the start so you are safe and then the Amsterdam countryside is all yours! We hired the electric 'vesper' type bikes and did a 50km route. Really easy, safe and saw a different side to Amsterdam. Remember lots of layers, gloves and a hat - it was cold when we were there - April 22 We stopped for lunch about 2/3rds around the route at the Brasserie de Jutter which was really good too. No hesitation in recommending Holland by Electric Scooter.

Bart, the owner, was very responsive in his communication and very welcoming when he picked us up from our hotel. We were given a preview of how to ride the scooter and also the route we were going to take. He has a link he can send you so you can see the route on Google maps which is super helpful. He provided a drink before we took off and one when we came back which was really nice. The scooters are electric and super quiet. We felt very safe. The route was so much fun. We went to see the windmills and had a blast touring the countryside. The windmills were enjoyable to see but the highlight was being able to scooter around and stop for lunch and coffee at various locations of our choosing. Highly recommend and we plan to go back and try a different route next time.
