Full description

Enjoy the picturesque Dutch countryside on a day trip by comfortable coach. Encounter the famous windmills, and learn about Dutch traditional crafts.

Take advantage of free wi-fi on board the coach before your first stop at the quaint village of Zaanse Schans. Stroll around at your leisure and admire the well-preserved historic windmills and houses.  Next, head to the fishing village of Volendam. Visit a cheese shop that still makes cheese using the traditional Dutch method and take in a demonstration.

Enjoy lunch at a traditional fish restaurant at your own expense, before visiting the Volendam Museum and the Old Dutch Bakery. Select the all-inclusive tour option for more activities including a boat ride, visit to an operating windmill, and clog-making demonstration. In Volendam, try to spot the recognizable Dutch traditional costumes often featured on tourist postcards and posters. Afterwards travel back in time to the quaint island community of Marken.

Enjoyed the Zaanse Schans and Vollendam portions of the trip, but the last section, by bus because we did not want to use the ferry and visit the clog-making factory, was long and there was really almost nothing to see but a gift store. At Vollendam, I suggest walking a bit further along the path to the restaurant and checking out other restaurants to see if there is foor you might prefer.

A great day ! the Zaanse area is beautiful and very informative - the Marken Island is very picturesque and the ferry ride over to Volendam is great ( in good weather) By the way buy the cheap ticket because you can upgrade to all the non included things (ferry only thing we cared about) for a few euros. Volendam a great spot to hang out and have lunch - Again a great day.

That day I had a wonderful time with the tour. The most friendly and outgoing guides took us to picturesque and spectacular villages to show us Holland countryside life and history. The weather was on our side and the day is certainly one of those to be remembered! The perfect day trip: half day but long enough to enjoy the authentic Dutch hidden beauties.
