I cannot recommend this experience enough, the guide was wondeful. She was an archeologist of the area and her expertise and knowledge shone through on the tour providing insight that heightens the experience all the more. The normally off-limits areas truly helped you understand the experience and history of the monument as you saw the cramped areas belonging to the gladiators and slaves to the arena they fought in and finally from the stands where you'd simply watch. The Forum and Palatine hill, seemingly just more ruins at first are the most important pieces of history in Rome. It is from there that Rome was built and formed and having the history explained truly let you understand the importance of the sight.

The tour was excellent and guide very engaging - great to get the atmosphere of the behind the scenes environment at the collesium. However, my audio equipment was temperamental and became a little annoying. Try yours before you set off as they have e replacements
