From Las Vegas: Hoover Dam Tour Experience

1. From Las Vegas: Hoover Dam Tour Experience

Take an excursion from Las Vegas to the Hoover Dam, which has long been known as one of the engineering wonders of the world. When the Hoover Dam was completed in 1935 it was both the world's largest electric power-producing facility and the world's largest concrete structure. Currently, it ranks as the world's 34th-largest hydroelectric generating station. During the half-day tour, you’ll be able to view the 17 main turbines that generate a maximum of 2,074 megawatts of hydroelectric power. You’ll also take in views of the Dam and Lake Mead from the Arizona Lookout Point, the best viewing spot in the area. You also get an up-close look at the newly opened Hoover Dam bypass bridge, which is a modern feat of engineering, soaring 900 feet above the Colorado River. This bridge is the longest and tallest arch bridge in the western hemisphere. Later, enjoy a spectacular vista of the Mike O'Callahan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, which opened in 2010 and stretches nearly 2,000 feet in length. There is a paddle-wheeler cruise on Lake Mead available as an option with this tour. Please note that this is not the Hard Hat Tour of the Hoover Dam.

The bus picked us up at our hotel on the strip, which was very convenient, and made sure we knew where the pick up spot was so we didn't miss it. The driver was very nice and we got lots of information and facts about the history of Las Vegas and the surrounding area. Though there were time constraints at each stop, it seems to be an adequate amount of time for what we needed and Bill made sure everyone was back o the bus before departing.

John, our driver and owner was very interesting and informative. What I also liked is he gave us great tips on what are the best places in town for like restaurants, and shops. And warned us of areas that were overpriced, etc. Really thorough tour of Sedona and I would recommend this tour!! Eileen

It was educational. Our driver was knowledgeable about Hoover Dam’s and Las Vegas’ history. At the same entertaining because he’s good in cracking jokes. The whole trip was not boring. I recommend our driver, Dirk to our friends who wants to tour Hoover Dam in the future.

It was amazing!!! Ae had perfect weather, the tour guide Bill C who drove us there was hilarious, informative and made it awesome. The tour of the dam was well done as well! Well worth it! And decent amount of time!

Prompt pick up driver was safe and informed However the transport vehicle could of totally been better quality….I think that vehicle is worn out
