1. From Lisbon: Small-Group Day Tour to Évora and Arroiolos

We want to take you inside a time machine and arrive back a few centuries ago, as our first stop is the former roman town of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, with roman, visigoth, muslim and portuguese influence. In Évora history crosspaths with us in every corner, in this big puzzle of historical monuments with more than 1000 years old. The walking tour starts at São Francisco church and the Bones Chapes, one of the must see places in Évora. Heading next to the medieval heart of the city where the Cathedral (the biggest in Portugal) can be found but also some antique testimonials like, Roman Temple cand the Roman baths. There will also be time for an olive oil tasting, free time to shop and to lunch … by any means skip the local food. Definitely no to skip the 2027 European Cultural Capital. We Finish This day with a visit to the Capital of Portuguese Handmade Carpets, tasting Wine, Olive Oil & local Patties.

Évora and Arraiolos - 8 Hour Private Tour

4. Évora and Arraiolos - 8 Hour Private Tour

The ruins of the Temple of Diana are a good example of the Roman presence in Évora , while the cathedral is from medieval times. The historic city center is surrounded by walls built in the 17th century. Back in Lisbon you'll pass the Alentejo village of Arraiolos, located about 20 km northwest of Evora. The highlight is the 14th century castle and the marvellous San Francisco Church, a Gothic monument with staggering Baroque inner decoration (re-built in the 19th century). You must also take some time to visit the famous Arraiolos carpets which have been woven since the 13th century, and are embroidered in wool on a jute fabric, cotton or linen. Another glorious aspect of the tour is the visit to one of the best wineries in Portugal, and the subsequent wine tasting of course.
