Full description
You’ll be picked up at your centrally located Athens hotel and begin your full-day tour with a visit to Panathinaikos Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Pass by the Prime Minister’s residence and the former Royal Palace, which is still guarded by the colorfully garbed Evzone soldiers. You’ll see the historically important Zappion building, now a conference and exhibition hall, before arriving at the Temple of Olympian Zeus, completed in 131 A.D. The tour continues past the National Gardens to Hadrian’s Arch and on to the Parliament. You’ll also pass by the National Academy, the National Library, the Old Parliament, Constitution Square, and the Russian Orthodox Church. Marvel at the Acropolis, built in the 5th century B.C. Visit the Propylaea Gateway, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon, and the Erechtheum with its famous Porch of Maidens. Take a short, pleasant walk past the Herodion and Dionysos theaters to the new Acropolis Museum. The museum houses more than 4,000 artifacts from the Acropolis site, and its exhibits cover the Greek Bronze Age as well as the Roman and Byzantine periods.

Very professionally done. Guide was excellent. The headphones had some issues, probably need to upgrade that aspect. The line at acropolis was crazy due to Easter weekend. Our guide overcame by flipping our tour to start at museum. It was great, we entered quickly and had so much information prior to entering the actual site. This made for a greater appreciation of the ruins. I thought I had purchased skip the line, Advice from me: pay attention that when your tour shopping that yours provides “skip the line” sure is worth it! Luckily, in spite of my oversight, our guide was able to make our trip happen quickly in spite of long lines. Was well worth the $$ to have an experienced guide for this once in a lifetime experience!!!

We were picked up from our hotel in a small shuttle and brought to the tour office to wait about 20-30 minutes for our tour bus. After finally starting the tour, we passed by and heard information about a few sites in Athens before going to the Acropolis. That was great since we only had one full day to explore Athens. When we got to the Acropolis, our excellent guide gave us listening devices which worked for me, but some people had malfunctions. We gradually made our way up to the Acropolis and heard lots of information from the guide. The walk was a bit challenging, but the slow pace helped and everyone made it up okay. We then had free time to explore on our own for an hour before meeting up again for the museum tour. We were quite tired by the end of the museum and were ready to call it a day by then. By the way, make sure you are fully vaccinated to get in the museum. Their policy when we were there was very strict.

Awesome.. The panoramic tour of the city was very informative. Got a good idea to plan where to visit later and also on our own. Acropolis visit needs strong legs, comfortable soft shoes and a protection from rain or sun. For tourists who need special assistance there is a lift that takes you to the Parthenon and the Parthenon is made wheelchair accessible by the admin by concreting the areas around it. That great help to all the tourists. A short walk from the acropolis takes you to the museum. Plenty of artefacts preserved there. Nicely managed tour really. Lastly katerina our tour guide, She was wonderful and has tonnes of info about the sites and makes the tour more entertaining. And for bird lovers… We spotted plenty of lovely parrots flying around the museum.
