Full description
Explore the most famous sights of ancient Greece on a full-day mythology-inspired trip that will ignite your imagination and introduce you to the beauty, culture, and history of magical Delphi. Spend an entire day learning about the oracle, discovering ancient ruins, including the amphitheater and the Temple of Apollo, and immerse yourself into a world of great history and fascinating storytelling! Your tour departs from Athens, from where you will travel to Delphi, located on the spur of Mount Parnassus. On your way, you will admire a unique route in the Greek countryside along plains, lakes, and mountains. You will cross the land of King Oedipus, a tragic mythical hero whose fate was determined after receiving an Oracle from Delphi. Approaching Delphi, you will immediately feel the energy of the place. Transforming yourselves into ancient travelers for the festival of the Pythian Games, you will visit the famous theatre, where you will enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and get an insight into the world of the Ancient Greeks. Visit the Temple of Apollo and with your expert, licensed guide, you will revive the ancient rituals and experience first-hand all the steps the ancient people took before they were deemed worthy of asking and receiving an oracle from the God Apollo! During your tour you will be engaged in the important message of Delphi and all that it represents: ‘Know thyself’, such a simple phrase, yet such an elusive virtue! Prepare yourselves for a unique journey and a revival of the ancient ways! After the exploration of the Delphi site, you will learn the story behind some of the most important artifacts of antiquity in the Museum of Delphi. Marvel upon the unique bronze Charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx, and the Statue of Antinoos, providing an amazing insight into Ancient Greek culture and history. After a lunch break, visit Athena Pronaia Sanctuary (depending on the local authority's permission), the most photographed spot in Delphi. Then, head back to Athens via the beautiful mountain village of Arachova, situated on the hills of the Parnassus Mountains, where the tour will stop for a short photo opportunity.

The activity was very organized! We were picked up from our hotel and dropped off. Our tour guide Costas was fantastic! He studied archeology and was very knowledgeable. We did not purchase the optional lunch package but when you are with the group you are able to eat lunch at the same location à la carte. This is a definite must do!

Tour guide and driver was good, but the tour company only told us one day before that they could not pick us up and asked that my family of 5 walk to their office to join the tour, so that was disappointing, as by then we could not have cancelled the tour.

Marianna is a top guide! She has a lot of knowledge and love for antiquity and art. “Art lasts forever”. The restaurant was cozy and we had a good meal. Bus was also very comfortable. Definitely recommended if you want to get out of the city for a while! Thank you
