Full description
Enjoy a scenic tour of Provence and see some of its most beautiful sites in one day. The 10-hour tour takes in the well-preserved Roman aqueduct of Le Pont du Gard, built in the 1st century BC as part of the Nîmes aqueduct from Uzès to Nemausus (now Nîmes). Drive to the rocky outcrop of Les Baux de Provence in the Alpilles mountains. Stroll the historic center to see a beautiful 16th-century house and Romanesque buildings. Continue to Saint Rémy de Provence to explore the remains of the Roman city of Glanum, including a triumphal arch set in an olive grove that inspired Van Gogh. After some free time for lunch, you will visit Roussillon, famous for its red and yellow ochre cliffs. Enjoy panoramic views of Gordes, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. Drive to Fontaine de Vaucluse, walk up to the cave from which the River Sorgues emerges. This impressive resurgence spring hasn't revealed its secrets yet and many speleologists have searched in vain the exact depth of the well. On Sundays only, enjoy L’Isle sur la Sorgue, a village famous for antique shops and the weekly open air market which is one of the most colorful and typical in the Provence.

The tour was good, it was a good intro to a broad area and gave me a good idea where to spend more of my time afterwards. I enjoyed being able to get out and walk around some of the towns. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided some interesting information.

So many wonderful sights to see! Highly recommend this tour. One star removed because essentially there was no time for lunch. Had to choose between eating or seeing the sights. Most chose to get a snack and eat in the car. Would recommend bringing food to eat along the way.

Interesting tour around unique towns in Provence

On a hot 36 deg C day we toured provence in airconditioned minivan. The locations were unique and have good vistas of the countryside. Our guide was restricted to his vehicle due to drop off arrangements so we received suggestions on places to visit and we explored the locations from there. Would have been nice to tweak the times in the different locations due to heat. Two locations have streams/rivers and would have been nice to have more time there and less in the hotter locations. Pont du Gare was probably my favourite - impressive architecture, river, nice breezes, and museum which I only had time to race through.
