Be picked up at your accommodation in Bentota and travel for 10 - 15 minutes to Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. Spend 30-minutes at Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery and see where five endangered sea turtle species lay their eggs. Learn about the turtles’ life cycle and see how Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery protects the eggs and baby turtles. See some of the newly hatched turtles and possibly a fully-grown turtle. Head to Balapitiya, where you’ll enjoy a 20 - 30 minute boat cruise on the Madu River. Travel through secretive waterways created by mangroves and see tiny islands with temples and cinnamon pluckers, who you can buy fresh cinnamon from. After your boat cruise, travel for 1-hour to Unawatuna. Relax on the beach for an hour and choose a hotel to have lunch (at your own expense). Drive for 25 - 30 minutes to the city of Galle. View various attractions in the colonial-era city. See the Galle Fort, the Galle Lighthouse, the National Maritime Museum, and the Dutch Reformed Church, Depart Galle at 5:00 PM and be dropped off at your accommodation in Bentota around 6:00 PM.
