Full description
Wine and gastronomy are part of Catalonia’s popular wisdom. Through this tour, delve into the Penedès region to learn all about the fascinating world of wine. The influence of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea makes Penedès a privileged territory for winemaking. You will travel on a private luxury bus to visit 2 hand-picked selected wineries. Your first stop will be a family run historical winery specialized in cava, a naturally sparkling wine with an unmistakable flavor deeply rooted in Catalonia. Take this tour with a specialized oenologist and the exclusive opportunity to enter the capella, the heart of the cellar and the oldest part of the winery, is an enchanting candlelit ancient room where time stands still. After visiting the cellar, taste 4 unique cavas paired with a selection of appetizers to enhance the experience. At your second stop, you will visit the traditional manor house (current residence of the family owner) and the vineyards to discover the art and secrets of winemaking. To add a glamorous touch to the experience, continue the visit through the vineyards on-board a 4x4 convertible car (approximately 40 minutes) accompanied by your guide and a viticulturist, a true passionate expert. This is an unique and exclusive way to visit a stunning rural landscape with endless vineyards. Along the way, admire a Romanesque church settled among the vineyards and belonging to the manor and taste a unique wine made by the same grapes you are visiting in your four-wheel drive tour. Take the chance to satisfy your curiosity and ask all your questions to an expert winemaker who will tell you about the history of this millenary winery. In this remarkable space, learn fascinating facts about grape varieties, vine growing, wine making or the optimal conditions for its storage. Raise your glass for a toast to a great wine experience.

This is not a guided tour from the perspective of having an outside the winery guide. A man from the tour company ushered us to the bus where a driver takes you from winery to winery. There was not much information provided until we arrived at the first winery. However, once we were there it seemed like a well-oiled machine.

Great trip, enjoyed having the 2 different tours in 1 trip and seeing how the wine and Cavan is produced.
