Barossa Valley: Craft Gin Making Experience with Lunch

2. Barossa Valley: Craft Gin Making Experience with Lunch

Take part in a craft gin making experience at the exclusive Barossa Gin School. Each of the work stations has a hand-made Italian copper still, ready to be the foundation upon which you will create your recipe. Working with a clean base spirit, allow yourself to be guided through the process of making a craft gin from scratch.  You'll be utilizing some of the most popular botanicals used in gin making today, as well as some not-so-well-known treasures. You’ll learn about the techniques employed to craft gin.  There will be plenty of different botanicals to play with and select from, so there’s ample room to get creative. By the time you’re finished selecting, measuring and recording your recipe, with guidance from the team if required, you’ll be ready to lift the lid on the still. You’ll sit down to a 3-course meal at The Eatery while the stills heat through and work their magic, mixing together all the flavours you’ve chosen. Once the stills release their freshly-crafted gin you can put the finishing touches to your labels. Once bottled, the only thing left to do to your creations is affix the label and add a wax seal if desired. At the end of the activity you’ll take home your very own personal gin, handcrafted and hand-bottled by you.

What people are saying about Barossa Valley

We got a GYG voucher for our wedding and used it for the ultimate experience at maggie beers. It was so good! Cooking demo first with a bit of history which was cool, then we ate the food they cooked in the demo while tasting the wines, gins and cider. Then you got a platter (decent size too) whenever you liked - we had ours straight away - and a bottle of wine the you could start there or just take home. We bought some things from the platter that we loved and some ingredients to make some of the demonstrated food. We didn’t get to walk around the farm because bubs had had enough by then but will be back again! This is a great gift for people who want something more than a standard wine tasting

Great wine in a beautiful location. We started with a lovely wine tasting to pick the wine for our picnic and had the chance to enjoy the wine together with an amazing cheese platter with a great view over the vineyard and the Barossa valley. Definitely recommended!
