Day 1 YOUR HOTEL / BELIHULOYA 07:30 You will be picked up from your hotel in Negombo or other selected cities ( see the departure point) and driven approximately 4 hours to reach Belihuloya. Dinner and overnight Stay at Tree House Chalets. Day 2 06:00 Wake up early in the morning and experience the sunshine over the mountains whilst discovering the wonder of nature surrounded by the hotel. 07:30 Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel restaurant. 09:00 Following breakfast, your guide will take you through another memorable walking trail to a waterfall in the property premises. Tranquil dip in this natural rock pool. No harsh chemicals, just you, pure mountain water and natural stone. This is a marvelous creation of nature! (Involves a somewhat adventurous, challenging short climb walks). 11:30 Arrive back at the hotel and get refreshed before leaving back to your drop off location. Today’s stage starts at the Farr Inn, the old hunting lodge for high-ranking British colonial officials turned into a visitor center. Now run by the Department of Wildlife Conservation, the old inn is situated next to the car park from which almost all visitors start the walk to World's End. We are at the highest point of the entire Pekoe Trail at an elevation of 2170 meters. Depending on the time of the year or even the time of the day it can be cold, windy, misty, or open skies. During the months of May through to December, clouds roll over the plains from eastward so close to the ground you feel you can touch them. In January and February, the skies are blue, the air is dry and the sun beats down like the African savannah. The name Devil's Staircase was most likely given by Scottish Planters living in the area and taken from the long-distance footpath on the West Highland Way in the Scottish Highlands. There are other so-called “Devil Staircases” in various parts of the world, one in New Zealand and one in the state of Oregon. around the world, the good news is that there are no stairs! It’s a track. The Pekoe Trail covers only the top section of the Devil's Staircase – from the point at which the track meets the Ohiya-Horton Plains Road to a small village from where a trail cuts across the mountain around and over to the Udaweriya Valley. The views are truly breath-taking, all the way down and as you semi-circle around the mountain. On a clear day we can see Udawalawe National Park and beyond we might even see the coastline. we leave one remote valley behind and enter the next. This is the lowest point of today’s walk at an elevation of 1618 meters. We call this valley the ‘hidden valley’ because it lies on the very edge of the tea country and its south-facing. The topography is so dramatic there are very few south-facing tea growing valleys in this area. As we begin to ascend we look inwards and upwards at the old and abandoned Udaweriya Tea Factory, now largely a skeleton of steel beams. We keep on hiking up the trail towards a clear pass, through neat terraces of vegetables planted left and right. Small local homes are dotted around the valley.

After lunch, you will enjoy the surrounding of the hotel and spend couple of hours at leisure. 15:00: You will start your walking trail to the village with your guide. You will walk through beautiful paddy fields and the friendly welcoming breeze that blow through. (Unpaved muddy path and possible leech bites can be expected) Meet the villagers and peep into the rural village life. Enjoy a tea session with them before say goodbye! 18:00: Arrive back at your hotel refresh with worm water shower before enjoying your BBQ dinner at roof terrace. Spend the overnight Stay at Tree House Chalet. Day 02 Wake-up early in the morning and experience the sunshine over the mountains whilst discovering the wonder of nature surrounded by the chalet. 7:30: Enjoy your breakfast. 8:30: Your guide will take you through another memorable walking trail to Pahantudawa Falls, a marvelous creation of nature in a mini canyon like geographical setting nowhere can be seen in Sri Lanka, located about 1.5 km from the hotel (Involves a somewhat adventurous, challenging short climb walks) 10:30: Arrive back at the hotel and get refreshed before leaving to Yala. 12:00- 13:00 You will enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant on the way to Yala. 15:00: Arrive at Yala Junction where you will start your evening game drive at Yala National park to experience the wildlife treasure in one of the best homes for Leopards and other animals in Asia. 18:30: Check in to Leopard Nest Campsite and enjoy your private Alfresco shower followed by drinks and appetizers around the campfire. 21:00 Dinner will be served at one of many locations available through the camp. Dine under the stars for an unforgettable evening meal in the jungle experience. Stay overnight at Leopard Nest. Day 03 Wake up around 5:00 am to freshly brewed Ceylon tea or coffee. Leave the campsite at 05:30 am and start to trek through thick bushes with a pathway access to a wonderful lake which offers breath-taking views and bird watching opportunities. If you are fortunate enough, you will encounter wildlife like elephants; Deers; palm squirrels; wild boars; etc. Also, you will confront both endemic and migratory birds; butterflies and lizards and land monitors slithering around the lake. Capture the splendid views of wildlife and nature to take back home. Don’t forget to ask your naturalist to share his adventures in the wild during the trek. Enjoy breakfast at a private location by a lake whilst listening to the singing of birds and feeling the fresh breeze. Return from the nature trail and check-into the campsite to refresh your souls before leave. You will check out at 11:00 am and be transferred back to your hotel.
