Visit the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie, the name given by the Western Allies to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Peddle into the city center where you will see the site of the 1933 Book Burning by the Nazi government. Then, continue on to the Museum Island and Jewish Quarter. After that, enjoy a quick ride to the Bundestag Building and the Holocaust Memorial. Then, you will hve the chance to visit the FuhrerBunker and discuss the many conspiracy theories surrounding Hitler's death. Alternatively, visit Potsdamer Platz and or Siege Säule, the Victory Column monument built in 1864 to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian War. The route will be decided democratically by the group, so start your campaign early if you want to visit specific sites - this is, after all, a tour about the rise and fall of Germany for which democracy always wins! A very nice tour for everyone who "experiences" Berlin's highlights for the first time. That would hardly be possible on foot. The bicycles take a bit of getting used to, but are original. The meeting point is a little inaccurate, should be with Pohlstr./ corner of Körnerstr. can be specified.

Tailor-made, inspiring and informative, expertise and subtle details

An excellent introduction and overview for a first-time or returning visitor. Inspiration for further discoveries and valuable tips beyond your average guide(book) or website. Expert knowledge combined with anecdotal local insight, presented in a digestible and engaging manner in impeccable English. The tour makes you reflect upon and appreciate Berlin's defining historical moments and their link with architecture, urban planning and contemporary culture. An ideal balance between serious content and more light-hearted and friendly dialogue with a qualified professional. The personal viewpoints and interpretation provided food for thought. We particularly appreciated the effort to make the tour enjoyable even for children (aged 9-12) who remained engaged throughout and set up with appropriate bikes. When your bike tour is organised and run by a Dutchman, you are in good hands. :-) Also an asset in providing a refreshing and open-minded take on German history and culture.

A great, great tour. Highly recommended.

The tour guide has a very broad knowledge with a lot of background information that you would not otherwise get. We (2 adults, + 2 teenagers) had our own bikes with us, was no problem at all. At the beginning of the tour we were asked what we wanted, so our route was cycled. Apart from the usual main attraction, we learned a lot about history and also about everyday life in Berlin. We can only recommend the varied and exciting city tour.
