Full description
Start your urban underground tour of Berlin at the Hackescher Markt at the heart of the local cafe scene and then head to a unique courtyard loved by contemporary artists. Hear how it has survived against the odds and get insights into the alternative messages of the art on display. Hear local stories about Berlin's neighborhoods as you continue to the Pink Man graffiti by the famous street artist, Blu. Learn about his protest against the “gentrification” of the town’s alternative side and other ethical projects he’s involved in.  Then, it's time to relax with a drink at a hip beer garden by the Urban Spree and experience how Berliners like to spend their evenings. Pass the East Side Gallery, where artists from around the world have left their mark on the remains of the Berlin Wall. Stop at the smallest cinema in town, popular for showing international movies and its 70's flair. End by the Boxhagener Platz and discover a great place to relax and experience some more urban vibes.

This tour was artsy and enlightening ... we enjoyed exploring lesser known areas of Berlin and our guide - a Russian citizen who had been living in Berlin for over a decade - was an artist herself and very knowledgeable about the art community in Berlin. We covered a LOT of ground and it's important to note that this tour covers completely different sites than any of the traditional Berlin "highlights" tours (b/c we also did one of those). That being said: while it was nice to have a private tour experience, we would recommend that this be a "small group" tour (for 5-8 people maybe) instead of a private tour for just the two of us. It was the most expensive tour we did, -- at almost 3x the cost of the other walking tours and excursions we partook in during our visit -- and while we learned a lot and loved seeing all of the street art, we're not sure if it was entirely worth the price

Miha was terrific, very knowledgeable and friendly. By the end of our time together I felt I had made a friend. His range of experience and knowledge was very broad and touched on nightlife, Berlin history, art, culture, and even religion. A wonderful man. I hope to see him in New York soon!
