Full description
Take a tour of the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp on this half-day tour from Berlin. Learn about the history of the facility that was once used for political prisoners but also served as the administrative center of the Nazi concentration camp system. You’ll take a short train ride to the outskirts of Berlin to this desolate reminder of one of the worst eras in human history. Walk through the camp as your guide describes the daily life of prisoners and explains the tactics of control used by the Nazis. Hear stories of tragedy and triumph, and learn about everyday life in the camp and some of the tactics used by the Nazis. Although this is a very sobering and somber tour you will also have a chance to remember the strong personalities of victims and survivors, whose actions still provide inspiration today.

Definitely recommend going to the concentration camps with a guide - or else you would be a bit lost/ it is so much more meaningful having someone filling you in and preparing you for fully experiencing it. Miguel was very well-versed, and really wanted us to learn and was knew the topic very well. He was caring, made sure we all were doing well and catching up, and made the whole experience a lot better. The guided tour was great, but be sure to free up at least 8-10 hours of your day for visiting Sachsenhausen.

Miguel was an amazing guide. He was obviously very knowledgeable but without making it seem like he memorized it all. He encouraged questions and thinking, and the whole tour was made in a respectful tone. He was eager to help and throughout the tour kept making sure we knew what was coming and that we had the option to skip certain parts if they were too much, which was very appreciated.

Paul was an absolutely brilliant tour guide. We have never learnt so much and been so engaged in a guided tour, it was an unique, thoughtful and respectful insight into the horrors and history of the camp and beyond. Highly recommend. It was a day to remember and reflect on
