Thien Hau is the Vietnamese transcription of the Chinese name Tianhou ("Empress of Heaven"), an epithet of the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, the deified form of Lin Moniang, a medieval Fujianese girl credited with saving one or some of her family members from harm during a typhoon through her spiritual power. After visiting the temple, you will relax on cyclo (pedicab) going around China Town and visiting some local shops, where you can find many traditional Chinese products including medicinal herbs and clothing. It was a great tour, with a very friendly and knowledgable guide. We were lucky because we were the only two people booked for the day. That meant that we could stay as long or as short as we wanted at any particular sight. The hour-long cyclo bike ride through Chinatown and the Ho Thi Ky flower market was a great start. It's amazing how the cyclo drivers can maneuver around the rest of the crazy Saigon traffic! Next was a visit to the oldest Buddhist temple in Saigon. Watching the monks chant before eating their meal was a surreal experience. Every stop on the tour was an interesting part of the day. The guide answered every question that we had. This tour is a great value and definitely worth the money!

Timothy my tour guide was excellent, he gave a full explanation of all the many sites we visited. His English is perfect, like the queens English. He often asked was all ok and the pace of his driving. The tour was exceptional we visited beautiful temples you would not know they were there, we covered a vast area. Safety was paramount throughout the whole day. We had plenty of photo opportunities. I would highly recommend this trip it is one not to be missed and worth the price. Wonderful memories of an amazing trip. I learnt so much of the Vietnamese history and culture.

The personal stories, the look at life how it is really lived and the genuine friendliness of the people we met made this a really different tour. My tour guide, Thien was so enthusiastic and imparted quite different information to the usual facts and figures type
