Nice to learn about this part of the history of the castle district area and how it played a roll during the war. Unlike the tour name suggests, the caves are located underneath the streets and houses in the buda district rather than under the castle itself. Useful to know is that you don't leave the caves at the same spot you entered.

The meeting point was well described and the guide met us in good time. Then a very short walk to the cave entrance. A very interesting tour with an excellent English speaking guide. Being from Scotland, the extra layer of clothing suggested for inside the cave was not required! For those worried about feeling claustrophobic, there is no tightness of space, you only have to duck your head occasionally.

I highly recommend this activity - our tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly, we learned a lot on this experience! From the start of Budapest up until today. Did not at all feel like an hour and a half, time flew by. It was great to get a completely different perspective of the city. Plus the cool temperatures were a nice break from the 30 degree heat! (At least to us Scots!!)
