Full description

Your first stop on this bilingual guided city tour of Budapest is in the Castle District for a short walk to see the area’s main attractions. You’ll visit Matthias Church and the Fishermen’s Bastion, the perfect spot for enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding area. Travel across the Elizabeth Bridge to the Pest side to see the exterior of the famous Central Market Hall and Europe’s largest synagogue. Then, drive to the city park. Along the way, you’ll pass the largest thermal spa in Europe and the Budapest Zoo, and then stop at Heroes’ Square, where you’ll find statues of famed Hungarian kings and dukes. The tour continues from here down Andrássy Avenue to downtown Pest, passing the Opera House and St. Stephen’s Basilica. You’ll get off the bus at the Parliament Building again for a 1-hour guided tour. Designed by the renowned Hungarian architect Imre Steindl, the building was inspired in part by the Palace of Westminster and is the largest Parliament building in the world. Inside, see the splendid session room, the richly decorated central staircase, and the great vaulted hall. You’ll also see the cupola room, which houses the Crown Jewels and the Hungarian Holy Crown.

I booked this experience purely for the visit to the Parliament. Overall I am satisfied. City bus tour with English and Spanish speaking guide. Stop only at the Heroes' square and at the fishermen's bastion (ticket not included) with half an hour free to go around independently. The guide then accompanied us to the Parliament where we were aggregated to other visitors with the English speaking internal guide. Too bad that the voice arrived a bit distorted in the headset, however, given the majesty of the building it is worth it. Too bad the guide in Italian is not available

All the money be. We had a guide named Gyuri. He was good at both English and the history of Budapest. He made sure to show and tell about everything you should see in Budapest. We even got to see the places that were impassable due to roadworks. He simply stopped nearby so we could walk the last distance. He was really good and even used his own private car when something went wrong with the minibus they had booked for the trip.

The visit to the parliament was canceled the same day due to the decision of the Hungarian government to close it to the public (due to the coronavirus). On the other hand, the visit, in French, of the city went very well in the presence of a friendly and very professional guide.
