Avenida de Mayo

We were transported from Palermo Soho to join the rest of the small group and the guide Barbi (Barbara). The driver drove carefully whilst she shared her knowledge and facts about Buenos Aires with us. She is able to speak very good English and you could tell that she was so keen and passionate about her job. In around 3.5 hours we passed by the Obelix, stopped at Plaza de Mayo, continued to La Boca and Caminito and had around 20 minutes of free time (make space for the best choripan from a street vendor), passed by Florealis and ended in front of Recoleta cemetery. Some of us had the option to be driven back to Plaza de Mayo to visit (on our own) the beautiful San Telmo Sunday street market. There were many other spots along the way which she also pointed out. We felt it was just the right amount of time for sight seeing, perhaps a little too rushed for those interested in photography. But definitely a good way to see the city if you are limited on time like we were!

A really good way to see the city . The guide was excellent, enough information but not too much. We walked around the presidential square and saw the pink house, La Boca and the area around the cemetery. The only downside was we arrived at the cemetery at the end of our tour after it closed ! It closes at 5.00. It wasn’t included in the tour but we could have gone in and caught a taxi back to the hotel. On the positive side we arrived at the tomb of St Martin just as the guards were changing which was really good to see.

Buenos Aires is a huge city so this trip could only cover a small intro. There were some good stops and Barby, our guide was outstanding- excellent clear English, charming, and pleasant with a thorough knowledge of the city. My only concern was not with the tour, but the admin info which says pick up is within a 45 minute window and as the bus was late we could have been waiting an hour at our hotel. As it was we waited over 30 mins. Getyourguide needs to sort this out.
