Buenos Aires: Empanada, Steak, Mate & Dessert Cooking Class

1. Buenos Aires: Empanada, Steak, Mate & Dessert Cooking Class

If you are tired of cooking the same dishes every week and wish to try something different, this class to make fresh empanadas, asado, mate, and chocotorta will be perfect for you.  Meet your group in front of the local market Mercado San Telmo, and feel like a local as you shop for your own fresh ingredients. Then, move to the nearby cooking location and start preparing the popular local dishes. Empanada is a baked or fried turnover consisting of pastry and meat or veggie filling, and one of the symbols of Argentine food. It has the perfect form to preserve all the flavors of the dish. At its core, asado is meat grilled in its purest form, a method for barbecuing especially used in Argentina. You'll also create your own mate, a typical Argentine drink, which can be drunk cold or hot. Finally, close off your cooking experience with a traditional local dessert: a chocotorta, or chocolate cake. This is a great opportunity to travel with your senses, and get inspired while you travel or live in Argentina. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about Argentine food.

What people are saying about Buenos Aires Province

Martin and Martin were on time at our AirBNB to pick us up. They were very friendly and made the 10 minute car ride enjoyable. When we arrived we were a little nervous as none of us had really danced the Tango before. The lesson was simple enough to follow along and the instructors were incredibly kind and patient. When ever we were stuck our guide Martin was there to step in and offer some extra help which made us feel so comfortable. When it was time for the real dancing Martin lead each of us around the dance floor for an extremely fun experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour for anyone looking for an amazing night out and experience Tango in a super authentic way. This experience was more then we could have asked for and I can't wait to go back to Argentina and dance more Tango!

The program was changed slightly in that we met in a hotel kitchen in Palermo, and the ingredients had already been purchased, but the experience was wonderful! Our chef/instructor, Florencia (not to mention her assistant, David) could not have been more knowledgeable, friendly, and talented. We learned so much about the food culture of Argentina, and the culture in general, while learnng to make four delicious courses. We could not recommend this program enough.

We had booked a private lesson. That was ideal because our current dance status with regard to Tango Argentino could be dealt with and built up.

Traditional argentinian experience! We loved every minute. A very nice time, lovely host!

Great experience. Great empanadas, good technique in preparing the meat.
