From Barcelona: Personalized Salvador Dalí Costa Brava Tour

1. From Barcelona: Personalized Salvador Dalí Costa Brava Tour

You’ll be picked up by private transport to begin this 10-hour personalized tour through the idyllic landscapes of Costa Brava. Experience the sites important in the life of Salvador Dalí, one of the world’s most important Surrealist painters. Head first to Figueres, a small town near the border with France and one of the points that make up the so-called Dalí Triangle.  Salvador Dalí was born in Figueres and spent his childhood here. Get to know the streets and places that marked his early years as well as some of the places he frequented as an adult. Next, you’ll visit the Dali Museum, called the largest surrealistic object in the world. Designed by the artist himself on the ruins of an old municipal theater, the Museum takes you into the painter's mind via a collection of the strangest artifacts you can imagine. Follow the footsteps of the artist to Cadaqués, one of the hidden gems of the Costa Brava. The easternmost of the villages on the Iberian peninsula features spectacular views of white houses, the sea, and the capricious forms of the mountainous terrain.  Walk around the town center, relax at the waterfront, and enjoy the cuisine of a traditional fishing village. Just a mile from Cadaqués is Portlligat, the last stop on your itinerary. In 1930, Dalí made his home in this tiny, charming cove, building his house from a group of fishermen's huts. It has since been converted into the House Museum as it is the site where the painter created his most important works. Take an intimate tour through the rooms where he lived with his beloved wife and muse, Gala.

What people are saying about Cadaques

A long day, lots of time in the van. But worth it! Saw not only Dali's museum and home but got a good review of his life during the trip up. Unexpected sights were the drive through the mountains and the sleepy little town on the Mediterranean. We were early enough to stop in a church with a huge carved-wood alter-piece where, if you put a one-euro coin in the box it will be lit up for about a minute. Unexpected surprises made this very long trip fun.

Our tour with Miquel was FANTASTIC!! He was funny, well-I formed, and most of all incredibly passionate about Dalí and that made us all appreciate the artist to the fullest. If you take this tour, DEFINITELY ask for Miquel!!!
