Pickup was timely and both our driver (Moody) and our guide (Doma) were both in constant contact before pickup to ensure a smooth tour. After about a 3-3.5 hour drive from Cairo to Alexandria, we picked up our guide and headed to the first stop, the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. This site is policed and they do not allow cameras inside, so make sure to leave this in the car. However, your phone is allowed… We spent about 45-60 minutes exploring the Catacombs which were really interesting since there is Roman, Greek and Egyptian heritage inside! Next we drove to Pompey’s Pillar where Doma provided us with background on the site prior to walking around. He grew up in the area so he knows a lot about the site. Our next stop was the breathtaking Roman Amphitheater of Dom El-Deka. Make sure you stand in the middle of the amphitheater and listen to how your voice echoes, but only while standing directly on the circle. Here we spent about an hour roaming around the site. We did a quick stop by
I had so much fun on this tour with Abdul! He was very kind and informative and knew SO much about the unique history of Egypt. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to explore the museum all on my own without his help! I would highly recommend this tour when visiting Cairo
The tour was well planned through various parts of the city, in all they explained the history to us. They even offered us to see other places of our choice. The transport was perfect, a very large and comfortable van for the trip since we came from Cairo.
Great day trip! Me and my daughter went and everything was taken care of so that way we could just relax. It did rain during our trip a little and our guide even stayed outside with us without complaint lol
Haitham was the highlight of the whole trip. Her was very friendly and very well informed of the Egyptian history. I definitely recommend this guide and if you do pls look for Haitham
