Your tour will begin in the historic heart of Cambridge, near to the old Roman road. You will see the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built by monks in the 12th century for travellers. Continue on to see three of the famous Cambridge colleges: St John's, Trinity (with its 34 Nobel Prize winners) and Gonville and Caius.

Once you arrive in the geographical centre of Cambridge you will learn about the Great St Mary's Church and the University's 18th century Senate House where graduation ceremonies are held. Enjoy the splendour of King's College Chapel, built over a hundred years by five kings. Through your professional guide, learn the fascinating history of Cambridge's newest attraction, the Corpus Christi clock, unveiled by Stephen Hawking in 2008.

Your guide will accompany you to the 11th century Church of St Bene't where townsfolk have been worshipping since it was built in 1030. A short stroll will lead you to the famous Eagle Pub, home to a lot of fascinating stories that your guide will be sure to regale you with. Finish outside the old Cavendish Laboratory where 29 Nobel Prizes were won and where modern physics was invented.

It was a nice way to spend 1.5 hours in Cambridge, but I deliberately chose the historic tour as opposed to the college tour, but there was still a lot of information on the colleges and how much they were worth. I suppose this could not be helped as this was Cambridge! It felt like we did more pausing to listen rather than walking and as it was a cold day, we were suffering by the end! Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny, engaging all of the group with his banter. Well worth the money.

Chris Skilton you are simply amazing. After a few hours of London train delays which meant my scheduled tour at Cambridge University at 1pm was missed. I quickly emailed Chris and he was proactive in contacting me and blessed us with a private tour, truly it was all a divine favour.., We were so happy meeting our tour guide Jonny who waited patiently for us in the City Centre. Jonny was meticulous and passionate in colourfully painting the history of the town’s history, rulers and university. Honestly, they have both exceeded our expectations. I most definitely recommend to all. Thanks a million Chris… Love Emeca & Milani

A very well organised tour. What made it even more special was that there was only my wife & I on it. Our tour guide Tony was very good & had a real knowledge as we walked the tour with many both factual and funny comments. Would like to go on the tour again in the warmer weather & where the colleges & places of interest are open to visit.
