3. Campos do Jordão: Full-Day Private Tour from São Paulo
Head out with your tour guide in a private vehicle on a road trip to the city of Campos do Jordão, located approximately 2.5 hours from the city of São Paulo. During this 9-hour excursion you’ll visit the Valley of Paraíba, passing through impressive landscapes while driving up the Mantiqueira Ridge on the way to Campos. The Mantiqueira Ridge is one of the highest mountain ranges in Brazil making the scenery along the way a breathtaking sight. When you arrive in Campos do Jordão, you’ll immediately feel the European influence in the architecture. Known as the Brazilian Switzerland, Campos is one of the most popular destinations during the Brazilian winter. It attracts thousands of visitors for its climate, good food and the traditional Classical Music Festival which takes place during July and August. During the day, you’ll get to visit attractions such as Morro do Elefante, accessible by cable car (ticket not included), and where visitors can enjoy views of the valley in which the city is located. Another main attraction is the Boa Vista Palace, the official summer home of the Governor of the State of São Paulo. It is home to works by renowned Brazilian artists such as Tarsila do Amaral, Di Cavalcanti, Candido Portinari and Anita Malfatti (admission is not included).
