Santorini: Spirits Tour with Wine, Beer and Liqueur Tastings

1. Santorini: Spirits Tour with Wine, Beer and Liqueur Tastings

Sip on Santorini spirits during this guided tasting tour of the island. Learn about ancient wine-making traditions of the area, and get introduced to the local varieties of liqueurs. Enjoy wine, spirit, and beer paired with Meze (appetizers) at 3 different stops. At your first stop, uncover the secrets of regional winemaking in a wine museum located 8 meters below ground. Taste local wines in this natural underground cave and learn about one of Santorini’s signature products. Next up is a tasting of local, wine-based spirits at a family-run winery. Be hosted in typical cave-shaped construction built by self-taught architects of the past. See homemade production methods dating back hundreds of years, that are still in use. Finally, explore the world of beer-making. Take a tour of a brewery factory with an expert guide. Witness various stages of beer brewing like maturing, filtering, and bottling. Cap off the day with a selection of beers paired with local bites and scenic views of the estate.

Great trip, a visit to winery to start including a museum, 4 wines to taste, no pressure, good atmosphere, followed up to a visit to a local distiller selling liquor, a family run business with opportunities to sample 4 different liquors, again great ambience in the heart of their business. If you get chance buy a piece of artwork by the daughter. Finally on to the Monkey brewery, six sample beers here so the alcohol keeps flowing. All three locations offer light snacks but I would suggest lining your stomach prior to setting off. A great day was had by all which was complemented by our 78 year old guide Yannis born and bred Santorinian.

Excellent tour guided by Gainni to 3 very different winery. 1 full of history, 1 home run & intimate & the last modern one with an excellent wine pairing lunch for 2hours. We ended the tour belly full & happy.
