Cape Town: E-Bike Cape Peninsula Tour

1. Cape Town: E-Bike Cape Peninsula Tour

After a short safety briefing, you will begin riding south to the Cape of Good Hope. This area is a world-renowned landmark, and contains monuments in honor of two of the world's most famous explorers: Vasco da Gama and Bartolomeu Dias. On your way, observe over 250 species of birds, baboons, ostriches, bucks, and the Cape Mountain Zebra. You will then head to Cape Point where you will get off your bike to travel to the lighthouse, where you will have some leisure time and eventually lunch at a local restaurant (not included). Once you’ve made the most of Cape Point, you will ride your bike back north to where you started to get back in the vehicle for the last attraction of the day. You will have the option to visit the penguins at Boulders Beach in the charming coastal town of Simon’s Town. There you will be able to observe them coming back from the ocean, basking on the beach, or just resting in their nest, from a non-intrusive platform above the floor.

Cape Town: Full Day Road Bike Tour

2. Cape Town: Full Day Road Bike Tour

Your guide will collect you from your hotel in the morning before you are transported to Camps Bay, the start of this route. After the bike setup and route briefing, begin the cycle. Start with a gradual ascent to Suikerbossie with great views of False Bay the whole way. At the top of Suikerbossie, you will head down into Hout Bay. This is the suburb where Chapman's Peak drive starts. This must-do road takes a gradual ascent to the top and this is where you will have a brief stop to admire the views. Then, take a fast and exciting descent into Noordhoek which will reveal great views of Long Beach close to the end. In Noordhoek, head over Black Hill and into Simonstown. Here, visit the penguin colony of Boulders Beach. Then take a gradual ascent upwards.  When you reach the top, you will pass the entrance of Cape Point and take a short cycle to Cape Point Ostrich Farm where you will even have the opportunity to feed the ostriches. From here, you will have an easy cycle through some breathtaking landscape to the sleepy town of Scarborough where some welcome coffee and a pastry awaits you at The Hub. Then, jump back on the bikes to cycle through Misty Cliffs, up Slangkop pass and in into the surfing community of Kommetjie. From Kommetjie, cycle back to Noordhoek and up Ou Kaapse Weg. This is a bit more of a steady ascent but the views over Cape Town and its suburbs are worth the effort. A steep descent takes you into Steenberg and through the suburbs of Constantia. Go up Southern Cross Drive to the top of Constantia Neck and back into Hout Bay. The last climb for the day is up Suikerbossie and an easy pedal to Camps Bay takes you to the end of this tour. Enjoy a well deserved lunch here before your guide takes you back to your hotel.

From Cape Town: Cape Point National Park E-Bike Tour

3. From Cape Town: Cape Point National Park E-Bike Tour

All our tours are guided at a leisurely pace, offering a soft adventure nature experience. We have availability for up to 8 guests per experience. This small intimate group allows us to immerse ourselves in nature and fully absorb the surroundings. We avoid public roads by driving you to the attraction before we start cycling. Each experience is accompanied by a professional guide and a support vehicle allowing for total peace of mind whilst you're exploring. E-biking offers a 'better than easy' way to experience nature. There are so many interesting things to stop and see that actual riding time is less than two hours: Cape Point is on the most South Westerly tip of Africa in the Cape Point National Park. A total must-visit! Cape Point as it's simply breathtaking, and the only attraction we offer with well-surfaced roads. This is excellent terrain to get you comfortable in the saddle on the e-bike. We start the tours with a trip to the lighthouse where we take a funicular ride to visit this historic powerful lighthouse on a peak that rises up 250 m at the tip of the Point. This overlooks one of the most treacherous coastlines for mariners. The lighthouse was built as the most powerful in Africa with its light visible for over 60 km. Once we have admired the view, we then set off to traverse the park on our E-bikes, taking in the famous diverse floral kingdom and wildlife including a variety of antelope, ostriches and baboons. Don't forget about the ride along the coast's crashing surf, simply stunning. Next, we take a scenic coastal route before stopping for lunch at a restaurant that is filled with character. Relax and reminisce on the day before heading back to the Waterfront.

Our guides, Wellington and Edward, we so professional and caring. They coordinated the group, made allowances for what started as a rainy day but got better with time. We had the best time ever and learnt so much about every bit of the beautiful vista we saw on the way and at our stops. The e-bikes were good and we became confident quickly with their guidance and safety tips. Of course we had many laughs along the way!! Cheers to this exceptional team and thanks for an unforgettable and breathtaking tour! It’s highly recommended!!

I was in Cape Town on business and had a day off so booked the Full Day Road Bike Tour. Overall, the tour exceeded my expectations. Gideon was extremely attentive and tailored the experience to my needs and wants, taking into account my desired riding distance and the sights I wished to see. He was very responsive to my questions before the tour and arrived on time at our meeting location the morning of the tour. I highly recommend using Gideon if you want to take a scenic bike tour of the beautiful area around Cape Town.
