First, walk through a beautiful narrow pathway, known as Al-Siq which serves as the main entrance to the main city of Petra. Then, lay your eyes on the Al-Khazneh Treasury which is carved deep into the rocks of one side of the mountain and is intricately decorated with Corinthian capitals, friezes, and figures. After lunch in Petra, set off to see other monuments such as the Monastery, the Altar of Sacrifice, Street of Facades, Royal Tombs, and the Roman Theatre. Explore several sites such as the Nabatean Temple, the Map of Wadi Rum, the Little Bridge, and the Red Sand Dune. Next, have the chance for a camel ride across the desert (at your own expense). Stop at a Bedouin camp and enjoy drinking Arabic tea or coffee as you mingle with the locals. Finally, enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset across the silky desert plains. Later that night, gaze at the starlit sky in a cozy relaxation area around the tents. Day 3: Dead Sea On your final morning, reconvene with your group and head to the Dead Sea where you can rejuvenate your body and replenish your soul. Private Tour to Dead Sea and Baptism Site

6. Private Tour to Dead Sea and Baptism Site

Leave your hotel to visit the Baptist site, 55 kilometers away. Visit the baptism sight, located on the east side of the Jordanian River, recognized by the Vatican during the visit of John Paul II in 2000 to be the official baptism sight of Jesus Christ, and a very important pilgrimage area to visit. This tour is very special to many people, and will relate to individual faiths and beliefs. Baptisms and re-baptisms can be organized as a symbol of ones faith. This area is not only associated with Christianity, but also to the three divine religions: Jewish, Christian and Islam with the ascension of the Prophet Elijah into heaven. You will then head to the lowest point on earth, 400 meters beneath sea level. The Dead Sea is probably one of the most incredible places in the world. It is known from the biblical story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra, which was turned into salt. The Dead Sea speaks for itself -  there are no living fish. It is by far one of Jordan’s most impressive and spectacular places to visit. Its calm shining water glowing from its scorching sun is known for the concentration of salt and minerals, which makes it a therapeutic and unique swimming experience not to be missed! Once your day tour has finished you will be returned to your hotel.

What people are saying about Capital Governorate Amman

The days in Jordan flew by and our amazing guide Ali made the tour unforgettable. He imparted his knowledge in a pleasant way and you could tell his 20 years of experience. I always felt that I was in good hands with him and the driver. The camp is in a fantastic location and the sunsets and starry sky were a dream. The tents and beds were comfortable and fit for purpose, the sanitary facilities were clean. I was very happy that it was still low season, so Petra and the camp were not as busy as expected. Wishes: Make a stop in the capital on the first day, after all you drive past it so close (possibly a viewpoint, omit the castle). On re-entering Israel to find a bus with a note from Abraham Tour and a bus driver who had been informed by Abraham Tours how many people to take. This small part just after the border was really badly organized.

I was more than expected. The best part was our guide Mahadi, very knowledgeable, caring and overall a great person. Petra is more than what people say or books show, no way of explaining it, you have to see it for yourself.

Perfection! Ali our tour guide made everything perfect. Food, stay, tour, bus - All perfect! Accommodation was incredible- wifi, great food, hot water!
