On this guided tour, spend the day visiting the famous marble caves of Carrara. Marvel at some of the world's finest marble, from which Michelangelo once chose in order to sculpt his masterpieces. We loved it. Lucca was an excellent guide and it was a blast seeing all that he showed us. Never imagined we’d be driving those roads and going inside a mountain. very good, very nice visit and tasting of Colonata bacon We had booked the visit in French.... but after two days we were told that there was a problem and that the visit would be in English (lack of participants without a doubt). Anyway we had a visit just with another couple, and it was very nice and interesting. Friendly guide

The marble quarries are really a reason to make a stop in Carrara. The tour gave us a great view into ins and outs (literally) of getting the marble out from the mountain. The guide Lavinia was enthusiastic and friendly, and knew enough on the topic to make the tour interesting and answer the questions we had. This particular tour goes inside of one internal quaries and that is really a must see experience. The lardo tasting is a small part of the tour, but lardo is really tasty and a nice thing to take home with you(also relatively cheap) if you like it
