Gaudi's Masterpieces Private Tour in Barcelona

6. Gaudi's Masterpieces Private Tour in Barcelona

First, you’ll visit Park Guell and the famous Cathedral of Sagrada Familia (entrances included) in Barcelona. The main architectural feature of the park, art nouveau, began to spread from Glasgow to Brussels and then to Barcelona, recovering former construction techniques such as the Catalan vault (or timbrel vault) and old craft styles, while at the same time taking an interest in the expressive potential of iron. The Sagrada Familia Cathedral will show you the symbolism represented by the Holy Family as an expression of Christian ideology and faith through the construction in stone. Proceed to Casa Battló and take a stroll inside (entrance included) to learn about the history of the famous architect, Antoni Gaudi, and his life in Barcelona. Locals call Casa Batlló 'the house of bones,' or 'the house of the dragon.' When you get there, you’ll immediately see the association, since the balconies look like the bony jaws of some strange, mythological beast. After the visit to Casa Batlló, you will take a one hour break to have lunch (at your own expense) before you visit inside Casa Milá, known as La Pedrera. As if it wasn’t enough, you’ll get inside Casa Mila or ‘La Pedrera' (entrance included), a natural creation with landscapes once populated by prehistoric creatures. Casa Mila is the only Gaudi interpretation center in Barcelona devoted to providing an understanding of the work of this architectural genius. A total of 48,437 square feet (4,500 square meters) can be visited, spread over five floors. Gaze at the imitable corkscrew chimneys and absorb panoramic views of Barcelona’s spectacular skyline before descending to Espai Gaudi to peruse enticing exhibition detailing the architect’s life and works.

I only booked this bus trip because my mother is not prepared to walk a lot, but I was wrong, this bus ride is awesome for everyone that wants to see Barcelona. You can step out of the vehicle and take another one to continue the trip. They have 2 different courses: a red one and a blue one, that will show different monuments and sights in Barcelona. In one day you can do both, but if you have more days to see everything more deeply, I'll recommend you buy these tickets!

Great way to see the city. Really interesting commentary in 15 languages and really helped us decide what stops we wanted to get off and look at. Only drawback on some of the stops were that they weren’t very clear where to pick the bus up from when walking between them. We spent ages looking for the stop by Glories and arc de triumph so ended up getting the metro

Great way to get a feel for the whole city. Busses came often which was good because sometimes they were too full and we couldn’t get in the first one.

Hugo was very knowledgeable and a fantastic guide.. we had a age range from 1y to 71y and still could manage well in the tour.

Very good for know touristic points in the city. You can stop, know the place and take again the bus for a new point.
