The town of Castel Gandolfo is definitely worth seeing. We went there by train for 4 Euros there and back to reach the meeting point. We arrived 30 minutes early and waited to be picked up near the church steps as agreed in the recommendations. No one came and we missed our bus leaving at the scheduled time. If you choose this activity and you have not been picked up at the scheduled meeting time, go directly to the left of the papal house where tickets are sold. The visit to the gardens is very pleasant but a little fast. We would have liked to have had more time during the course and during the stops to take the time to hear all the explanations of the audio guide. The tour of the house is really interesting and worth doing.

A beautiful and unique experience getting to see the Pope’s historic summer residence. We had audio guides as went through the house as well as on the bus that took us through the gardens. The town is very quiet with wonderful views of the surrounding valley and a gorgeous over look of the lake below. Highly recommend getting dinner overlooking the lake. If you are interested in something very different than the business of Rome but still related, definitely try this!

We have a problem with our tickets but the agency quickly intervened and compensated us with 3 free tickets for the visit of the Villa

Nice visit to these magnificent gardens. To discover after having wandered in Rome. Relaxing to be in the countryside.

Spectacular gardens, excellent organization. Recommended
