Full description
At a height of 3,320 meters above sea level and a diameter of over 40 kilometers, Etna is the largest active volcano in Europe. Explore the volcano and the town of Taormina on a full-day tour. Visit Monti Rossi, responsible for the major eruption in 1669, and see a lava stone quarry. Take a short, moderate hike at Crateri Silvestri (2,000 meters above sea level). Put on a helmet and grab a flashlight to explore a lava tube. Stop at a 1992 eruption, taste local products and visit the village of Zafferana for lunch. Enjoy a walking tour along Taormina’s narrow streets, and see the Greek theater, the cathedral, the botanical garden and more.

this was an incredible tour! Alessio was a well-informed, extremely polite, and made the trip exciting and also educational. I learned a lot about both Mt. Etna and the town of Taormina, while also seeing craters, cool caves, and beautiful views of Isola Bella and the town of Taormina. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and thank you Alessio for the wonderful day. It made my trip.

the trip was amazing. I traveled alone, and was well taken care of by both the guide and the others in the group, who otherwise was a fantastic family of 7 from Romania. The trip to Etna was super, we got lots of exciting and informative information on the way there with several small stops to look at the scenery and places where the lava has taken both houses and roads. the guide was alive, full of information, nice and helpful, we stopped and ate lunch at a great place, everything was great. Taormina- Lovely I really recommend this tour and this guide, one I will certainly use again.

Best tour

Alessio is the best guide I have ever met! The information he gave us were interesting and helpful. His English & Spanish are impeccable. He is also very punctual. Also, his driving skills are so great. I am a person that has motion sickness and I have to say that I felt great during the drive. Thanks, Alessio!
