10. Mount Titlis Glacier Excursion Private Tour from Luzern
Meet your guide at the hotel and make your way together to the train station in Luzerne. Take a 45-minute train to Engelberg, a small village at the end of the valley, known for its winter tourism industry. Take a 10-minute walk to the gondola station and board a 6-seat gondola. Enjoy a 20-minute scenic gondola ride as you glide above meadows, trees, and the silent landscape. Stop at the middle station called 'Stand' from where you will change onto a rotating gondola which will take you to the final destination in 5 minutes. During the journey, the gondola rotates by 360 degrees to ensure you get fantastic aerial views. Once you've arrived at the top of Mount Titlis, begin the sightseeing tour by visiting the terraces, where there is snow all year round at 9980 ft above sea level. Enjoy the panoramas of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. After exploring the terraces, visit the highest suspension bridge in Europe. Cross the 100-meter long bridge, which is 1640 ft off the ground. On the other side, the entrance to the glacier cave awaits you. Spend some time exploring the incredible tunnel system on a 150-meter-long walkway that descends below the surface of the glacier. Return to the main building and take the opportunity to have lunch in the panoramic restaurant. Enjoy local dishes, while you're admiring views of the surrounding mountains. After lunch, the rest of the day is up to you. Take the chance to enjoy the silence on the terraces or ride a chair lift to the snow park for some wintry action. When you have finished discovering Mount Titlis, your guide will escort you back to Lucerne via the same route. There is the opportunity to stop in Engelberg for a short walk on the way back if you would like.
