1. Bonito: Prata River Snorkeling
Begin your tour with a pleasant walk through the riparian forest of the Olho d'Água and Prata rivers. Set off down an interpretative trail protected by an RPPN: Private Natural Heritage Reserve. Pass through centenary trees, orchids, and bromeliads, and keep your eyes peeled for several species of birds and many mammals, such as coati, capuchin monkeys, and anteaters. Upon arrival at the source of the Olho d'Água River, a huge natural pool of crystal clear waters, the guide will help everyone to equip themselves with a mask and snorkel. Practice floating to explore the surroundings before beginning your descent of the river. Then, let the soft current take you down the river and peek at an underwater world inhabited by dozens of species of fish and aquatic plants. Shoals of piraputangas, dourados, curimbatás, piaus, matogrossinhos, and other Pantanal fish are some of your likely companions. Drift for about 2 kilometers until the meeting of the Olho D'Água and Rio da Prata rivers. When you return to the farmhouse, savor a delicious lunch, typical from the Mato Grosso region. Sample homemade jams and the famous local sweet doce de leite. To relax after the adventure, take a stroll in the farmhouse and contemplate nature.
