Awesome site! Don't forget to see Napoleon's bathtub at the end of the tour. The only downside about this site is parking. It would be helpful if the site had a lot or more information about how to park. It was metered, and it was difficult to figure out in another language.

Easy to book tickets online and save to smart phone (Apple wallet in my case). We visited both this Chateau and Versailles. If you have only one option due to time constraints, I would go for Fontainebleau. Very interesting and particularly enjoyed the Napoleon exhibition. Get Your Guide priority tickets are highly recommended.

The castle is superb. only downside, the outside staircase is under construction, so we could not see it. Otherwise the castle is superbly furnished. It is very large, the Napoleon collection very rich. The surroundings of the castle, park and gardens are magnificent. For me, it is as beautiful, rich and well maintained as Versailles. It's really worth the detour. Before arriving at the castle, remember to stop at the painters' village of Barbizon.
