1. Mumbai: Full-Day Private Sightseeing Tour

Book yourself a private full-day tour to visit Mumbai's most famous landmarks. Settle into your air-conditioned car as your local guide takes you from one stop to the next, offering fascinating stories of Mumbai's past and present. Savor a simple local lunch, delivered to you by the efficient system of the Dabbawallahs, a hot lunch delivery service on bikes. Start off with a convenient pickup from your hotel. Drive to the Gateway of India, the arch monument overlooking the Arabian Sea. Spend some time walking around and taking pictures, while your guide also introduces you to the significance of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel located nearby. Stop at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a magnificent Gothic-inspired UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dhobi Ghat, the world's largest open-air laundry, is an interesting place to visit and learn about a unique community of people. The tour also visits Mani Bhavan, a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and his political work in Mumbai. Drive around the peaceful, leafy neighborhood of Malabar Hill and make a quick stop at a local temple. Your tour takes you to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (or the Prince of Wales Museum), where you can make an optional stop to explore India's historical past and culture. End a memorable day with a pleasant evening spent at the Marine Drive, before being dropped back to your hotel.

Best Combo of City, Dhobighat, Slum & Dabbawala

2. Best Combo of City, Dhobighat, Slum & Dabbawala

Your guide will meet you at your hotel then take you on a city tour. Highlights of the tour include Marine Drive, Victoria terminus, the Gateway of India, Colaba Market, and Mani Bhavan. You will also get to go on a ferry tour at Colaba, cruising along Mumbai's city coast line. Next, learn about the Dabbawala - the people whose job it is to carry and deliver freshly made food from home in lunch boxes to office workers in the city. See Dabbawala in action and hear how the success of the system depends on teamwork and time management. Next, you will learn about the Dhobighat. A dhobi is a traditional laundryman, who will collect your dirty linen, wash it, and return it neatly pressed to your doorstep. The laundries where clothes are taken are called ghats. Stop for a lunch break at a local restaurant. Finally, go on a 2-hour Slum Tour with your guide. The Khumbarwada area is the place occupied by the potter’s community from Gujarat, and you will be able to see pottery being made here.

Get Your Guide didn’t let us down again! Fab tour, fab guide, fab driver. We laughed all day, and saw everything and more that we wanted to see. Anthony our guide, along with a wicked sense of humour, told us facts that were not always run of the mill or in the guide books. Mukesh our driver was so polite, patient and a great traffic navigator. Best tour of our 3 week trip across India.

Good overview of Mumbai

The tour was very enjoyable. Anthony is a very knowledgeable guide. I liked that the tour didn't just take us to the grand architecture, it also included places where non-rich people work and live, ie the outdoor laundry and the market. With pick-up from the hotel, it was also good value for money. Recommended.

Our guide Suraj was a great guy with a lot of local knowledge and sense for humor. The tour covered 8 different and interesting places. Sunday seemed to be an excellent day for doing this kind of trip as the traffic is rather remote. Overall great trip and great experience! Highly recommended!

Great guide and the translator was great too! Everything tuned in advance and performed great tour. Sufficient time to visit had. Our target wishes were dealt with easily. Very harmonious day.

This was a very nice tour. The guide and driver were helpful and knowledgable.
