Copenhagen: Roskilde, Frederiksborg & Kronborg Day Tour

1. Copenhagen: Roskilde, Frederiksborg & Kronborg Day Tour

Enjoy a scenic sightseeing tour of North Sealand on an 8.5-hour excursion from Copenhagen, and visit the royal monuments of Kronborg Castle and Frederiksborg Castle and the World Heritage site of Roskilde Cathedral. Ideal for those who want to explore further than the city center to see as much as possible of historic Denmark, but are short of time, you will travel in a small group for a more personalized experience. The tour includes time to explore the imposing exteriors and interiors of Frederiksborg and Kronborg castles, the latter set on the banks of the Sund between Denmark and Sweden, and most notable as the site of Elsinore in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” Soak up the romantic setting of Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, surrounded by a beautiful lake and gardens. The guide will take you to Roskilde to visit Roskilde Cathedral, the burial site of 39 Danish kings and queens, including Ingrid of Sweden, spouse of Denmark’s Frederick IX, father of the current Queen Margrethe II. The last stop on your tour will be the Viking Ship Museum to see rebuilt models and excavated ships from the days when the Vikings rampaged their way - and conquered - much of Western Europe and the North Atlantic. Please note, that between November and March and most of April, the tour does not include a visit to the Cathedral's interior but rather a walk around the impressive structure and an introduction to the Cathedral's place in history.

Copenhagen: CopenHill Ski Pass Including Rental Gear

2. Copenhagen: CopenHill Ski Pass Including Rental Gear

Enjoy the traditional winter sport of skiing year-round at CopenHill. Located in the center of Copenhagen, CopenHill is an active clean energy power plant with a rooftop that has been transformed into a skiing slope. Instead of snow, you will be skiing on an environmentally friendly plastic surface. The roof is 85 meters high, offering astonishing views over the city for an extra special experience. After checking in at the ski-rental station to collect your included rental gear and lift pass, you can start skiing. CopenHill is divided into 3 levels. The upper level is characterized as a black/red piste and is recommended for advanced skiers only. The middle and bottom level is similar to a blue/green piste and recommended for beginners. There is also a slalom course, freestyle park, and, of course, an area for children. The lift systems consist of 4 lifts: the bottom 3 are magic carpet lifts while the upper to steep section is a plate lift. The technique you use to ski on the plastic surface is the same as you would use on real snow, but the feeling will be slightly different. Please remember to start slow and get used to the plastic surface to ensure everyone's safety.

With Arthur, our driver, and Christian, our guide, the trip was really fun. Christian was able to answer any of our questions and also informed us about the current situation in Denmark. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to do everything we wanted to do, which was walking to each attraction.

We had a great experience. Thomas, our guide, was very kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend. I think having reliable transportation and historical context are both key features.

Our guide Robert was very passionate and knowledgeable. Apart from our stops, he also gave us more information throughout our ride.

Robert was fantastic. Amazing knowledge of Denmark history. Great way to spend a day. Highly recommend!
