6. Girona: Small Group Walking Tour

The ancient walled city of Girona stands on a fortress-like hill, high above the confluence of the Onyar and Ter rivers. As the provincial capital, it has a long and distinguished history. Founded by Iberians, the Romans later named it Gerunda and established it as an important stopping point on the Via Augusta, linking Iberia with Rome. But the most important time for the city was the middle ages, due to its location near the french border the city was under siege several times, so its main buildings are from that time. Girona has the huge 15th century cathedral, boasting the widest unsupported gothic arch in the world which dominates the skyline. Much of the city's attraction lies in exploring the medieval streets, especially around the charming Jewish quarter. In the lower part of the city, you will enjoy spectacular images of steep alleyways and the brightly painted façades of the houses overlooking the Onyar river which provide the most emblematic image of the city.  Among the bridges that span the river are the lightweight Gómez bridge and the Ferreries Velles bridge which was designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1877. Also, if you are interested in The Game of Thrones series, the guide will show the locations where the 6th season was filmed. This extensive visit will show you the most important monuments of Girona, its history, its Jewish heritage and also its legends. Join local guides who know all the secrets of the city.

Tossa de Mar: PADI Discovery Scuba Diving

7. Tossa de Mar: PADI Discovery Scuba Diving

The "try dive" is an activity recommended for beginners in scuba. The entire experience lasts three hours, the first 35 minutes of which will consist of a briefing on how the equipment works, how to communicate underwater using hand signals, and how the tour will go. Afterwards, get kitted out in the provided wetsuit and boots in the changing room. Once you are ready, hop in the van for just five minutes and prepare for the fun to start. Because the dive site is directly connected with the beach, you'll be enjoying a shore dive off Mar Menuda Beach.  When you get to the water, your guide will break up the activity step by step, and you'll have plenty of time to get used to each one at your own pace. Starting from the beach makes everything easier, especially for your ears as you'll have more time to get used to the pressure. Stay under the water for about an hour — this, of course, depends on you, because the more nervous you are, the faster you breathe, and the quicker you'll go through the air in your tank. During the dive, your guides will snap some photos/videos, so you will have a souvenir from the activity.

This was an amazing day trip on the final day of our vacation. Our guide Manu picked us up at our apartment in Barcelona at 8:20am. Manu was an excellent guide and very personable. The first stop was in Girona. We toured the Jewish quarter and many sites where Game of Thrones scenes were filmed. Then we stopped at a small coffee shop to grab some coffee and pastries. We headed back to the van to go to our next destination. The small village of Peratallada. We walked around the carved stone streets and stopped at small shop to sample Vermouth and Wine. Then we headed to the coast to Costa Brava. We took some amazing photos from a scenic viewpoint overlooking the town and then ate lunch at a restaurant with delicious seafood. Manu made sure we were well taken care of the entire time and got us back safely to our apartment by 6pm. I highly recommend this trip to anyone that enjoys Medieval and beautiful coastal towns.

Book this trip! The seaside is absolutely stunning, the castle was impressive, the beach front was beautiful. You get to see a bit of Spain that you wouldn’t see just staying in Barcelona (it’s about a 1.5 hour drive.) We were a small group of 7 on the tour, so it was nice and not overwhelming. Enrique our guide was great! He took us to a local place for lunch and ordered for us all - we never would have found this restaurant on our own. We ate like locals. Lots of walking on this trip, so if that’s not your thing, then it’s not for you. It was easy walking, though. Nothing too strenuous. My 17 and 20 year old kids were in awe all day. It was a fantastic day. I give it 5 stars all the way!

This was definitely worth the day trip with the family. My two teens and 11 year old equally enjoyed the Dali museum and Girona. Our tour guide, Omid, had wonderful stories to share about the town and region. The Museum was more enjoyable having him explain its history and the work exhibited there. I highly recommend this tour.

This tour was arranged in small group and our guide Hengameh she is super knowledgeable person. Explained the ancient history about the city. And also the Costa Bravo trip was simply awesome.

Sergio was very knowledgeable of the history and the places we visited.
