Full description

Join a hike along the Caminito del Rey, a one-direction walkway that starts in Ardales and ends at Álora. Follow your guide as they tell you the history of the walkway and Desfiladero de Los Gaitanes Canyon. Walk across the famous footbridge and admire breathtaking landscapes.

This walking tour begins at Conde de Guadalhorce Dam, a water reserve in Malaga. As you hike, learn about the history of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Canyon, carved by the Guadalhorce River, from your guide. See how the construction of a water channel from the reservoirs in the north to El Chorro included building a pathway for maintaining the channel. The path is known as El Caminito del Rey (King's Little Pathway), inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII.

Encounter a footbridge over 3 kilometers long, built on the walls of the Gaitanes Gorge (Desfiladero de los Gaitanes).

Experience beautiful natural spots in the province. During some stretches, the route reaches heights of up to 101 meters. Although the best-known stretch of the route is the footbridge, the total journey of the Caminito del Rey is 7.7 kilometers (4.8 miles).

Very nice trip. Must see!! It is a bit of a walk to the bus after the gorge and the bus goes every half hour. Was too little so many people and a long wait. And you still have to buy a ticket in cash on the bus. Super clumsy but good to know!

Beautiful surroundings, super along the mountains, there is no need to be afraid, everything is well secured. The final walk of 1.5 km is a bit too much. Still in that heat and it was October .... Provide you with toilet paper because in the restaurant there is no where to leave.

The hike was very nice. Unfortunately, the meeting point time was brought forward to 9:15, but the hike didn't start until 10:00, so you stood around for a long time. The toilet situation is catastrophic at the meeting point, only one women's and one men's toilet. The price of the tour is quite high, so the return transport to the starting point should have been included. The tour itself is well organized. Hence the five stars
