Full description
Your minibus will pick you up from Torremolinos, Marbella or Estepona and we will drive you to Costa del Sol. Once in Gibraltar, our minibus will take us to all the major sights, including Punta Europa and Las Cuevas de San Miguel. Punta Europa, on the edge of the rock, has a lighthouse and stunning views of the African mountains, just across the water. Cuevas de San Miguel has more of an edge. Though now a major tourist attraction, it was once a refuge for soldiers during wars and a secret passageway for those looking to escape. After the tour, we will give you the time to explore the shopping district of Calle Real and surrounding areas.

The bus driver was amazing and friendly but the ‘tour guide/translator’ (with the white hat with the greasy combover) was horrible and spoke ‘English’ far too quickly and merged sentences into one word. There were many incidences throughout the day in which he rushed less able/ people walking with sticks and elderly people across the road. He also rushed everyone up the stairs without showing them to the lift for him then to decide that we needed to go back down the stairs. I asked him politely to stop rushing the elderly people and he said ‘don’t tellmewhattodolady’ ‘Iknowhowtodo my job’ However the tour guide who drove the minibus up the rock and gave us the dictated tour was also amazing.

The tour was great, unfortunately we were the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off. This unnecessarily extended the trip by over 2 hours. Time in Malaga was about 5 hours of which you have 2.5 hours to self manage. Tour in minibus was awesome.

The overall trip was good. The tour company did not have me on their passenger roster and after 15 minutes arguing with the operator and showing my confirmation, they let me join. (I know they were doing their job but no one at the travel office was capable of helping.? It was embarrassing, but going to Gibraltar was worth it! The monkeys and the tour are worth the price. The two hours of shopping beforehand was clearly to make the local tourist industry happy. Be prepared to spend more time picking up/dropping off passengers than at Gibraltar. If you book with Julia Tours, triple check they have you on the roster.
