We were booked to picked up from our hotel in Chania and had confirmation of this with the booking but had a call from the bus at Rethymno to meet the bus ! - after help from our concierge at the hotel we were switched to a tour bus in Chania and our day started and proved to be excellent in every way.Guide was very pleasant with just enough info without being intrusive.Trip was excellent value for money. More attention to details of booking needed as i feel had we not pushed our trip may well of not happened.

The boat was clean and comfortable, and nicer than the large group boats and I bought my ticket on the bus. the cliffs along the coast were spectacular and we saw goats up on precarious ridges. The river was as the pictures, clean and not too deep so walking to some small falls was easy. Water shoes helpful for it's stony but ok without as some smooth. the restaurant regimented for lunch was local and delicious. family business and work a great view of local mountains from the port. a really worthwhile tour.

The beach Preveli Palm Beach is beautiful; highly recommended. We were picked up by a somewhat old and overcrowded bus and had a stop in Finikas at beautiful waterfalls. You have to make a climb for it (~250 steps), but this was worth it. Then we drove to Damnoni where we were picked up by boat to go to Palm beach. Unfortunately we had to wait here for about 1.5 hours and then had a drink at a tavern. The boat trip is about 30 minutes. The time on Palm beach was sufficient. Water shoes are useful because of the stones by the sea. On the way back we had one more stop at a fishing village. We personally did not find this so special. Good to eat something. For the price I definitely recommend the trip!
