Full description

Discover the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas on this unforgettable tour. Start your day with hotel pickup and make your way to the picturesque town of Pisac. Exlpore its colorful artisan market, where you can shop and immerse yourself in the customs of its inhabitants.

Admire the imposing archaeological park of Pisac and then travel along the right bank of the Vilcanota River through the Sacred Valley. Stop in the town of Urubamba where you can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Next, head to the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to the valley. Walk through the streets of the town to get a clear idea of what this military, religious, and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire.

Return to Cusco through Chinchero, where the remains of the royal treasurer of Túpac Inca Yupanqui are found. Admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit its beautiful colonial temple, built on the foundation of an Inca building.

Itinerary not as described

I booked this tour specifically because it said in the description that it visited three of the archeological sites: Pisac, Ollantaytambo, AND Chincheros as well as the Pisac market. This is not the case. We made relatively short visits to Pisac and Ollantaytambo only and then spent a lot of time at places selling stuff including a silver smith and store for woven goods in Chincheros village. Additionally I was forced to purchase a pricey buffet lunch at a tourist restaurant (S/50, $14) because everyone else on the tour had this already included in their ticket. I'm pretty sure this listing is just a bait and switch for another tour with similar name and price that has this itinerary so beware.
